Healthcare systems face a critical moment. New regulations, aging workforce and population, changing reimbursement models, expanding patient access, and the increasing use of AI are transforming how we view labor and productivity. These challenges demand not only awareness but also strategic actions.

Join Justin Wiser, VP and CFO Enterprise Hospitals, INTEGRIS Health, alongside Health Catalyst’s John Hansmann and Dan Hopkins for a realistic yet forward-looking discussion on the current state of healthcare labor. This session will explore the realities leaders face today and offer a clear roadmap to help teams respond with curiosity, data, clarity, and confidence.

This isn’t just a conversation — it’s a call to action for leaders eager to move from complexity to understanding, and from challenge to solution, shaping a system and workforce ready to tackle these complex issues.

Attendees will walk away with five strategic actions:

  1. Audit Labor Cost Drivers Identify top cost centers and review premium pay, overtime, and contract labor usage.
  2. Standardize Staffing Practices Compare policies across departments, address inconsistencies, and analyze span-of-control ratios.
  3. Map Technology to Labor Efficiency Inventory current tools and assess their impact on workload and productivity.
  4. Investigate Employee Impacts and Opportunities Analyze items such as turnover, recruitment, burnout, labor-market conditions, aging workforce, workforce shortages, employee satisfaction, and role design.
